Training and development is an important part of our philosophy. As new technologies, methods and materials are developed, we strive to stay on the cutting edge through specialized training and continuing education. Below are some of our certifications and designations with more on the way.

CertainTeed Silver Star Contractor

Excel is a CertainTeed certified Silver Star Contractor. Contractors who have been awarded the Silver Star Credential meet the stringent requirements for workmanship and financial stability set by CertainTeed Commercial Roofing. We are authorized to offer no-dollar-limit warranties, backed by CertainTeed for up to twelve years.

As a Silver Star Contractor we also participate in CertainTeed’s Roofers Track Record Survey. After the installation of a CertainTeed SBS modified asphalt roof, customers respond directly to CertainTeed and rate the quality their installation. These surveys contribute to a profile of the overall satisfaction rating for Excel Builders & Renovators Inc.

NYC Department of Buildings Registered Construction Superintendent

Excel Project Manager and Construction Superintendent is registered with the NYC Department of Buildings in compliance with a ruling which began in July of 2008. The rule is designed to ensure code compliance and accountability at the job site. Beginning in July of 2008 the department began issuing permits only for projects naming a registered construction superintendent.

NYC Department of Consumer Affairs

Excel is licensed with the New York City Department of Consumer affairs. The agency, founded in 1969, was the first municipal agency in the United States to focus on the rights and responsibilities of consumers and businesses.

NJ Division of Consumer Affairs

Excel is registered with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs. The NJ DCA protects the public from fraud, deceit and misrepresentation in the sale of goods and services. Our registration number is 13VH00826900.

Häfele

We have completed extensive training in the in specification and installation of sliding and folding door hardware.

InstallationMastersTM

Excel President, Matthew Goldfine, has been recognized as a Certified Installer by the InstallationMastersTM Institute. This recognition is given to individuals who have successfully completed the InstallationMastersTM Program a nationwide training and certifications program for new construction and replacement installers of windows and exterior glass doors in residential and light commercial markets.

In addition, Mr. Goldfine has manufacturer specific training from Marvin Windows and Doors and Integrity from Marvin Windows and Doors.

LEED AP

Excel Project Manager and Estimator Martin Mills is certified as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP), sanctioned by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and managed by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI). The certification is awarded to building professionals demonstrating a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED Green Building Rating System. It allows them to facilitate the integrated design process and streamline the LEED Building Certification process

Excel Builders is a certified Magal-Senstar installer. We have completed the technical training for the application and installation of FPS Fence Protection Systems, G-Line Capacitance Systems, MPS-Microwave Series, MX-5000, CEnDe Systems and PAS Systems.
